F’Aerial Arts first opened its doors in 2018, in the sweet town of Little River/Wairewa, on the mighty Banks Peninsula. For the past five years Treesa and Anthea have schooled many members of the local community on all things circus arts; from flipping and flying to performing in front of large crowds.

After many sell-out showcases and full-scale productions, the dynamic mother-daughter duo have decided to spread the circus love further afield and into the expansive Selwyn District, opening their secod school in Rolleston at the end of 2022.

Treesa and Anthea have honed their circus skills together and separately, in Christchurch and around the world, for over a decade now. Perpetually training, still students themselves, they are both committed to continuing their craft and sharing their passion for the wonderful physical and creative artform that is circus.

Daughter of Treesa, Anthea has been training Circus Arts for nearly as long as her mum (minus a few years of international globetrotting), and she’s been teaching circus, yoga, and aerial yoga in Christchurch, on the Banks Peninsula and around the world since 2016.

Anthea’s most memorable teaching stint would have to be at the Sirkhane Social Circus School. Based in Turkey, oand bordering Syria, Anthea was challenged to teach large groups of children aged 4-18 everyday, who spoke three different languages - and none of them English!

Her favourite disciplines are silks, trapeze and lyra - though she’s also quite the contortionist and has been known to hoist her mum in the air for some acro or aerial doubles on special occasions! She is also a one half of the production team for all F’Aerial showcases and productions.

about us

Founder and Managing Director of F’Aerial Arts Circus, Treesa has trained in a wide range of Circus Arts, as well as Yoga and Acroyoga, for over a decade in Canterbury, Wellington, Auckland, and Sydney. She has been teaching kids and adults in Christchurch and on the Banks Peninsula since 2016.

Her favourite disciplines are trapeze, duo aerials, hand balancing, and partner acro, but she is experienced in performing and teaching a myriad of circus arts skills including silks, hammock, hula hoops, juggling, lyra, tumbling, performance, and more…

Treesa’s all-time favourite circus trick though is writing, directing, and producing sell-out circus shows featuring all of her fabulous students. With striking visuals, bold lights, and atmospheric soundtracks, Treesa loves to showcase her student’s skill and bravery by telling archetypal stories set in mystical worlds through the wonderful world of Circus Arts.
